Martin in the No. 35 Zaxby's Toyota Talladega

TALLADEGA, AL:  Hal Martin has been coming to Talladega Superspeedway for over ten years, but he has always been on the other side of the fence watching the race. Roles have switched and Hal Martin will be putting on his helmet and getting behind the wheel to make his first laps around the historic 2.66-mile superspeedway.

Martin will be making his debut at Talladega with Venturini Motorsports in the no. 35 Zaxby's Toyota. Martin will be one of five drivers that Venturini Motorsports will be fielding for the Talladega ARCA 250.

"I am so grateful that Billy and Venturini Motorsports have given me this opportunity to race with them at Talladega," said Martin. "I was already on the way to Talladega to watch the race when Billy called and told me about the open seat on the no. 35."

Martin signed a multi-year driver development contract with Venturini Motorsports in early March 2010. Along with Talladega Superspeedway, Martin plans on racing multiple events in the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/Max and Menards with Venturini Motorsports.

Venturini Motorsports and Martin tested at Daytona International Speedway in December 2009 and found a natural fit together.

"I was able to work with Venturini Motorsports for the first time in Daytona at the end of last year. I am more than ecstatic to get back in the drivers seat with the Venturinis," Martin added.

Venturini Motorsports and Martin will build upon the past test to build a future in Martin's racing career.

The Talladega ARCA 250 at Talladega Superspeedway will mark Hal Martin's fifth ARCA Racing Series start and his first start with Venturini Motorsports. The Talladega ARCA 250 is live on SPEED at 4:00 PM CT. All the ARCA on-track activity from Talladega will also be featured in live streaming audio at ARCAracing.com.
